Martha E. Lane

Martha Lane is currently the Vice President of Business Development at CEDC, having joined the organization in 2000. During her first ten years, Martha was focused on providing technical assistance and training to small business owners. Since then, her responsibilities have expanded to include small business lending.
Martha’s career began in market research, followed by four years with a savings and loan in Seattle, Washington. She moved to Hudson, NY in 1988 and worked various jobs while raising her family. With a partner, Martha started up two small businesses in New York State – one was self- financed, the other was started with an SBA Microloan.
Martha has attended five SBA Microloan multi-day training programs and completed the Basic Economic Development Course offered through the NYS Economic Development Council. She is a graduate of Toastmasters and the Columbia County Leadership Program. Martha attended Mount Holyoke College where she studied art history and French literature. Committed to community service, Martha has served as committee member and officer of several non-profit boards in the community. She enjoys traveling, reading, cooking, and hiking.
