The Hudson City School Board accepted an offer from the Hudson Development Corporation (HDC) to purchase and develop the John L. Edwards School as a centralized community hub for Hudson residents.

The Hudson Development Corporation (HDC) was recognized by the Dept. of State for the role it played with the DRI Local Planning Committee in developing the city’s plan and identifying specific projects; indeed, recognizing the profound effect they would have would not have been possible without the work of the DRI-LPC and the HDC.
Projects included in the plan:
- Implement Complete Streets Improvements
- Renovate Promenade Hill Park and Provide ADA access
- Improve the Safety and Aesthetics of Cross Street and Second Street stairs
- Stabilize the Dunn Warehouse for future re-use
- Repurpose the Historic Fishing Village as a city park
Private projects in the plan:
- Establish a North Bay Re-Generation Project for Environmental education
- Establish a Community Food Hub to support small start-up businesses
- Winterize the Basilica Hudson and create high visibility public greenspace
- Provide Workforce Development Infrastructure at River House
- Fit out commercial kitchen and retail space to provide Workforce training
