Hudson Open Studios, an annual celebration of local artists, brings visitors from far and wide to downtown Hudson and invites locals to explore their city in a new way. Over the weekend of October 11th and 12th, artists will open their studios for a behind-the-scenes look at their creative process. Meet fifty painters, sculptors, photographers, printmakers, and other creatives; purchase art; and learn more about our vibrant community. Stores, galleries, and other venues also provide exhibition space. The event is free to attend and there is a self-guided map of all locations. Come for the art and stick around for great food, drink, and shopping! Hudson Development Corporation is the proud fiscal sponsor of Hudson Open Studios.

Grab your blankets, break out your best costumes, and get ready for a frightfully fun evening at our 2nd Free Community Movie Night on Thursday, October 23^rd at Henry Hudson Riverfront Park. This year’s celebration comes with a Halloween twist: double the movies, double the treats, and plenty of festive fun for all ages.

The night kicks off at 5:00 PM – get to the park early to set up your chairs and cozy blankets. At 6:00 PM our fangtastic partners at Story Screen Cinema will project the family-friendly Frankenweenie and share free popcorn to set the mood. As the sun sets, the park transforms into an open-air cinema for the cult-classic Rocky Horror Picture Show at 7:00 PM. Expect local flavor from Hudson Brewing Company, savory bites from Meat Hook, pizza from Mama Jean’s, and more delicious surprises from favorite Hudson vendors.

Come cozy, come spooky, come ready to sing along! Costumes are encouraged, creatures of the night are welcome, and admission is completely free.

The Hudson Mile is Here!

Lace up your running shoes – the first-ever Hudson Mile is a one-mile road race right down iconic Warren Street, and it’s open to runners of all levels. Whether you’re spectating, chasing a personal best or just out to soak in the cheers, this fast, flat course delivers high energy and small-town charm in equal measure. The race kicks off at 5pm, and after the finish line, the fun keeps going – stick around to explore Hudson’s shops, grab a bite, and enjoy the downtown bar scene. It’s more than a race, it’s a celebration of community, speed, and local spirit. Hudson Development Corporation is the proud fiscal sponsor of this new event.

Sponsor or make a donation to cover the essential costs that make this event possible – from permits to race awards, race timing systems, and participation giveaways. Any proceeds beyond event costs will be donated to Friends of Hudson Youth, an all-volunteer organization that supports out-of-school programs for local youth through sports, creative expression, academics, and job skills – advancing our shared mission of community wellness and engagement.

Join Hudson Development Corporation for a summer night of suspense, snacks, and shoreline fun as we present JAWS (1975) under the stars! Grab your beach blankets, lawn chairs, and favorite people, and head to the Henry Hudson Riverfront Park for a free outdoor movie night that’s sure to make a splash.

The evening kicks off at 8PM with tasty eats from Meat Hook, Trixie’s Sugar Cookies, and drinks available from Hudson Dry (zero proof) and Hudson Brewing Co. (21+). Then, thanks to our friends at Story Screen Cinema, we’ll fire up the projector for a screening of Spielberg’s legendary shark thriller once the sun goes down. Free popcorn! Otherwise it’s BYO everything – blankets, bug spray, cozy hoodies – and don’t forget your sense of adventure.

HDC – in collaboration with the Hudson Business Coalition – coordinates a series of Business Roundtables featuring local speakers. The outcome stimulates positive dialogue among local business owners and serves as an incubator to help stimulate Hudson businesses.
